CROSSING OUR DIVIDE
America has never been this divided on this many issues. As a result, our culture is losing empathy and congress is less effective. Check out my grad school project Crossing Our Divide, an exploration into what divides us as a country and what we can do to overcome it.
WILDLIFE CORRIDOR
I’ve always said you’re a lot safer on the trail than you are driving to the trailhead! One night in Nov. 22, I was driving my kids home when I collided with a 500 lb bear on I-26 near Asheville. It was a terrifying experience and a catalyst for me to advocate for wildlife corridors. I got a petition with over 5,000 signatures (!) and after investigating it, NCDOT agreed to put in passageways for bears, deer, and other animals. Construction is still underway- when will it end?! 🙂 In the meantime, check out these stories in the Citizen Times and on Spectrum News Charlotte. Keep an eye out for updates- and bears!
